Cookies Policy
What does it consist of?
A cookie is a data package that a web browser automatically stores on a user's computer when they visit a web page. The cookie is sent from the server to the visitor of the web page. Subsequently, each time the user visits that same web page or another of the same domain, the cookie will be read by the web browser, without being modified, and returned to the web server.
Therefore, a cookie is only data that is stored on the user's computer. Cookies are not software, nor are they fragments of code, they are simply data. Therefore, in principle cookies can not transmit and run viruses, or install malware such as Trojans or spyware.
What are they for?
Cookies are commonly used by web servers to differentiate users and to act differently depending on them.
Users are usually identified by entering their credentials on a validation page; Cookies allow the server to know that the user is already validated, and therefore can be allowed to access services or perform operations that are restricted to unidentified users.
Other websites use cookies to customize their appearance according to the user's preferences. They are also used to track users through a website.
